Motorcycle secured on a flatbed recovery truck in Cornwall

Motorcycle Recovery in Cornwall

A bike at the side of the road leaves the rider exposed as well as stranded. We load properly, and you come with the bike.

Bikes are easy to move badly. Strapped in the wrong place, a motorcycle arrives with a dented tank, a bent lever or a damaged fairing, and forks compressed hard for an hour do not thank you for it. We load onto the flatbed and secure the bike by the frame and bars with soft straps, upright and supported, rather than dragging it or lashing it down by whatever is nearest.

The riding roads here are also the roads with the least help on them. The B3306 out past Zennor, the moor roads across Bodmin, the Lizard lanes and the coast route around St Agnes are all a long way from a garage and often a long way from a phone signal. If you are riding those roads, note your last village or junction as you pass it.

Rider safety comes first when we plan the job. Standing in leathers on a verge in the wet, in the dark, on a bend, is a genuinely dangerous place to be. Get behind a hedge or barrier if there is one, leave the bike where it is, and wave us down when we arrive rather than standing in the carriageway.

We take the rider with the bike. Nobody gets left at a junction waiting on a lift, and pillions come too where there is room in the cab.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you secure a bike so it does not get damaged?

Onto the flatbed and strapped at the frame and bars with soft straps, kept upright and supported. We avoid strapping through anything that flexes or scratches, and we do not compress the forks hard for the whole journey.

Can I travel with my bike?

Yes, you ride in the cab with the driver, and pillions come too where there is room. We do not leave riders at the roadside.

I have dropped the bike on a lane and it will not start. Do you still come?

Yes. Tell us whether there is any fuel leaking, whether the bars or levers are damaged, and whether the bike will roll, and we will bring what is needed.

Will you recover a bike from a track day or an event?

Yes, provided the organisers are happy for a vehicle to come in and the bike can be moved to a pick up point.

Do you cover the far west and Bodmin Moor for bike jobs?

Yes. Those are exactly the roads riders come here for, so they are a normal part of our patch. Signal is poor in places, so send a location as soon as you have a bar or two.
