A breakdown is rarely a mystery once you describe it. A vehicle that dies silently with no dash lights is a very different job to one that cranks hard and never fires, or one that loses drive with the engine still running. We ask a couple of short questions on the call so the driver arrives with the right kit rather than turning up empty handed and going away again.
A fair share of what we attend never needs a tow at all. Flat batteries, jump starts, tyre changes, fuel problems and simple electrical faults get dealt with at the roadside where it is safe to do so. When the fault is beyond that, we move straight to loading rather than wasting your evening on a fix that will not hold.

Will you try to fix it at the roadside or just tow it?
We try to fix it where the fault allows and where it is safe to work. Batteries, tyres, fuel and some electrical faults are regularly sorted on the spot. Anything mechanical or unsafe to drive gets loaded instead.
What should I do while I wait?
Get out on the side away from traffic if you are on a fast road, stand behind a barrier or hedge, and leave your hazards on. On a quiet lane it is usually safer to stay in the vehicle with your seatbelt fastened.
Do you attend breakdowns in the middle of the night?
Yes. Our lines are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and nights are a normal part of the week for us.
I am not sure whether it is safe to drive it. Can you advise?
Ring us and describe it. Warning lights, smells, noises and steering or braking changes all tell us something. We would far rather talk you out of a risky drive than recover a worse problem later.
