Broadside Recovery transporter loaded for a planned vehicle move in Cornwall

Vehicle Transport Across Cornwall and Beyond

The wider transport service, for anything on wheels up to 7.5 tonnes that needs to be somewhere else on a date you choose.

For businesses, garages, farms and private owners moving vans, light trucks, plant and machinery as well as cars.

Not everything that needs moving is a car. We move vans between depots, light trucks to and from testing, agricultural and groundcare machinery, kit cars, project vehicles and equipment that has never been road legal in its life. If it fits within 7.5 tonnes and it can be secured safely, it is worth asking about.

The two questions that decide whether a job is straightforward are weight and roll. Something that rolls and steers loads quickly. Something on tracks, on seized wheels, or with no steering takes planning, more time and sometimes a different loading point. Give us the real weight rather than the brochure weight, especially on anything with a bed, a tank or a load still in it.

Business customers usually care about the paperwork as much as the move itself. We can work to a purchase order, deal with a yard foreman rather than the owner, and collect or deliver outside normal hours where a site demands it. Repeat and multi vehicle moves are quoted as a job rather than one at a time.

This is planned work, so nothing about it should be a surprise. You get a price, a date and a plan for both ends before anything is booked.

What decides your quote

Actual laden weight

Plated weight plus whatever is still on or in the vehicle. This decides the truck and the straps.

Does it roll and steer

Rolling and steering loads in minutes. Seized, tracked or dismantled takes planning and time.

Loading points

Whether there is hard standing, a ramp, a slope or soft ground at each end.

Site rules and hours

Depots, auction houses and farms often have fixed access windows and induction requirements.

Number of vehicles

Several movements between the same two points are cheaper planned together than booked separately.

How the booking runs

  1. 1

    Describe the vehicle honestly

Type, weight, whether it rolls, and anything unusual like a low front or a missing wheel.

  2. 2

    We plan both ends

Loading point, ground condition, access hours, and who is meeting us with keys.

  3. 3

    Fixed price, confirmed date

You get a figure and a slot in writing before anything moves.

  4. 4

    Secured, moved and signed off

Loaded, strapped and photographed, then handed over to your nominated contact.

Questions people ask before booking

What is the heaviest thing you can transport?

We work up to 7.5 tonnes. If your vehicle or machine is over that we will tell you straight away rather than take a booking we cannot deliver on.

Can you move machinery that has never been road registered?

Yes. Registration does not matter for transport, but weight, dimensions and whether it rolls very much do. Send measurements if you have them.

Do you invoice businesses rather than take payment on the day?

Yes, we can work to a purchase order and invoice for account and repeat work. Agree it with us when you book.

Can you collect from an auction site?

Yes, provided we have the lot details, the release paperwork and the site's collection window. Auction sites are strict about all three.

Will one truck take two vehicles?

Sometimes, depending on size and combined weight. Two small cars is a different question to a car and a van. Ask when you get the quote, because it can save money.

Broken down right now instead?

This page is for planned movements. If your vehicle has stopped and you need someone today, use the emergency side of the site.
